Every Golfer Has a Story. This One Is Mine.

I lost my dad to brain cancer. It's the kind of loss that doesn't just take a person from you — it takes your footing. For a long time, I didn't have solid ground under me.

But I had golf.

Golf found me at the right moments, over and over, whether I was looking for it or not. A club pro gave me lessons while I was in Job Corps, at a time when I had almost nothing else going for me. A college coach put structure and discipline back into my life when I needed it most. Years later — a full decade after I'd stopped playing — I picked the game back up and it put me on a course with a mentor who changed the direction of my life all over again.

That's the thing about golf nobody tells you when you're starting out: it's not just a game you play. It's a room you get invited into. And the people in that room — the mentors, the playing partners, the pros who take the time to teach a stranger something — show up exactly when you need them.

The Lowest Point

Before I started this company, I was losing everything at once — my businesses, and the people closest to me. I was at the point where I genuinely didn't know if I wanted to keep going.

Golf brought me back.

Not because it fixed anything on its own, but because it gave me somewhere to go, something to focus on, and — eventually — someone to talk to. Four hours on a course with the right person can do more for you than you'd expect. It did for me. It gave me purpose again, and it gave me the foundation to rebuild.

Why Golf Saved My Life Exists

Not everyone's story looks like mine. But almost every golfer has a story — a round that came at the right time, a mentor met on the back nine, a game that gave them something to hold onto when they needed it.

Golf Saved My Life exists to tell those stories and to pull more people into this game — the greatest game ever played. Whether that's a kid picking up a club for the first time at one of our clinics, or someone rediscovering golf after years away, our mission is the same: connect people to the game, and let the game do what it does. Build mentors. Build community. Give people a reason to keep showing up.

This brand isn't just apparel. It's a reminder — to me, and to everyone who wears it — that the game gave us something worth holding onto. And it's an invitation to the next person for whom golf might do the same thing.
